Aerial Observers may scan for specific resources or to discover and report on forest fire activity based on pre-established client survey requirements
The Ideal Candidate
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age; • Must have a valid Emergency First Aid Certificate; • Must possess a valid Class G Driver’s licence; • Must have the ability to obtain a valid Restricted Operator Certificate – Aeronautical; • Must have the ability to read maps and use a GPS unit proficiently; • Must have the ability to identify features, resources and landforms from the air and recognize possible smoke areas; • Must have the ability to fly in small aircraft under low level, slow air speed and turbulent conditions for prolonged periods; and • Must have the ability to complete the MNRF AV109 Detection Pilot/Observer Training Course
